Andrews offers a conclusion for his article - with no advance warning - that not only provides an illustration of exactly why this is so in my case (and presumably significant numbers of others), but also speaks volumes about where the Mac platform is today and where Apple's strategy can take the company from this point on: I read the main body of the story with interest which did a lot to remind me exactly why I have in the past, and continue to today, greatly prefer the Mac platform for my day to day work, online hobbies and family digital mail and entertainment needs (pics, movies and stuff) - of course fully aware of the price/performance gapâ„¢ with the PC platform. ![]() I was enticed to read it because it is written by a respected author* and also to get some current insight into the state-of-play for Linux on the desktop. I ran across this article at the Seattle Times site entitled "How Does Linux stack up against Windows XP".
